Soul mates – Part V: A mathematical study of how many soul mates you have on this earth

This is my last post on the Soul Mates Research. I had no idea of soul mate before starting of this research and now I am back to the state where I was. I explain why!

What is soul mate? – The people around say there is one soul which was created for you.

If you are the one thinking the same, stop it!

If you have one soul for you on the earth which is same as like yours, then the 50% of the people on the earth would be the soul mates of the other  50%, which seems to be a funny idea.

“So, what I have understood from my studies is that two souls can be considered as soul mates if they together want to achieve/fulfill each other’s purpose on the earth.”

The total no of people on the earth while I write this document is 7,300,757,312.

As stated by United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Population Division and the world population is projected to reach 7.325 billion in July 2015.

Males and Females percentage is 50.4% and 49.6% respectively.

None of the religion talk about soul mates, rather they give more importance to the single soul. All of them try to elevate the each soul to the next level and give them a better place on the earth.

World mythologies , yes they talk a lot about the soul mates as I described in the Part II of this series.

Psychologists they just give opinions  based on the surveys, which is basically the idea of the people.

There is no soul which exactly same as you or me, but there might be a 99.99% matching soul. Though this soul is matching yours , it might not help you achieve your purpose.

Out of 7,300,757,312 souls, that is 1.369720916974373e-8 % or 0.00000001369720916974373% is the percentage of people on the earth whom you are looking for. Still do you believe that you can meet that person?

But we can make some calculation to find out the number of soul mates for each soul on the earth. Remember , each soul can have many soul mates, not only one. If you believe in only one soul mate you are with the above percentage of people and don’t move on, you are free to go and search for that 0.00000001369720916974373% of people on the earth which I believe impossible on this birth.

There are many hypothesis to calculate the best match for your soul, but they relate to love. Soul mates not necessarily to be in romantic relationship that is the reason why I don’t want to use those hypotheses here.

Let us assume that each soul mate shares  some preferences / characters common to its soul mate.

  1. You want to meet every person for at least 1 seconds to decide if he/she is your soul mate.

Totally you need 7,300,757,312 seconds which is 231.35197997422 years on the earth.

Do you think you can live 231 years on the earth?

Check your average age of your country and let’s limit the soul mate calculation within your age limit.

Life expectancy of the world population varies from  85  years to  38 years.

Considering  that you live to the max age of 85 years,

231 years will be split into 231/85 =  2.717647058823529 times  where the whole population also can be split into 2.717647058823529 times.

So you will be able to meet only 7,300,757,312/2.717647058823529  =  2686425850 people on the earth in the 85 years of your life.

2686425850 people into seconds into years  =  85 Years! , the highest life expectancy of the people on the earth!

  1. To further filter the people to meet your soul mate, Let us do this way,

You can define the number of characters/preferences  you expect in your soul mate.

Preferences p  =  It might be 1,2,3,4,……n  of characters/preferences.

You have p no of characters and you expect ‘k’ no people.

No of people matching your preferences  =  k

p = no of preferences, k = no of people who meet your demands

Assuming all the people have the same no of preferences, we have to find out a solution to match the demands to each other and find out the best matches.

Using Binary logarithm of mathematics, where we assume the people in 2 dimensional array, we can find out the number of matching soul mates ,

: n+k*n = n*log2(k*n)

n = 2686425850 , no of people you have to meet in the 85 years of your life.

Solving this equation gives the value of ‘k’ as 35.4716 which can be taken as whole value of 35!

So you have 35 soul mates on the earth which can you meet in 85 years among the 2686425850 people.

We considered people as two dimensional data because each person has their own no of preferences and the person who seeking soul mate has his own set of preference which has to be compared against each person in 2686425850.

There are lot of assumptions in the solution! So it’s up to you accept it. Will catch you with some other new topic soon!

Soul Mates – Part IV:The Psychologist’s View

Hello Friends,

Here is the version IV of my soul mate – search report. This report doesn’t give any surprises to me as I had in the last report.

This time I am analysing the soul mates, how the psychologists define the soul mates based on their research.

Considering Aristophanes theory ,he is not a psychologist (he was a playwright and director), each soul has an exact other soul on the earth.

Psychologists claim that well educated people do not typically believe in the concept of the soul mate. People like to favour a well-suited partner rather than soul mate.

The Siemens Festival Nights conducted a survey with 2000 people and found that,

  • One in seven believed to be not with their love.
  • An average person has fallen head over heels in love just twice in their life and has been left heartbroken once.
  • An unfortunate one in 20 adults has been heartbroken more than 5 times in their life.
  • For about 60% of the people in the interview said they took more than 10 weeks to know that they are in love.
  • Women are tending to fall in love more than men.
  • Nearly 75% of the people in the poll say that the love changes when they get older

The soul mate is not a real person rather it is assumed to exist within our imagination. And many of the people have had to learn that their search for a soul mate drew them into unsatisfying and dysfunctional relationships.

Dr. Ted Hudson of the University of Texas, ran a longitudinal study of couples who had been married for years and in his research he found out something quite surprising.

Dr. Ted Hudson explains, “My research shows that there is no difference in the objective compatibility between those couples who are unhappy and those who are happy”.

Dr. Ted Hudson went on to say that couples who were feeling happy said that compatibility wasn’t an issue for them. In fact, they were perfectly ok saying that it was them who made the relationship work not the compatibility. But unhappy people went on to say that compatibility is extremely important in their relationship and they dint feel compatible with their significant one.

This study doesn’t give me any interesting facts to me except the repeated survey of psychologists. So I can conclude that there is no such person like soulmate, who just exists only on the imagination.

My own survey from my blog, I have the below result.

Soul Mates –Part III: A Spiritual Study

The previous posts can be accessed here

Hinduism

According to Hinduism, marriage is defined as two souls which comes together and unite with each other in spirit and that make a perfect marriage. The more strongly they become united, they concentrate less on sex.

The more they are in love with each, they become united with God.

As stated in the holy book of Hindus, Srimad Bhagavat Gita, by Lord Krishna,

Chapter 2, verse 22

vasamsi jirnani yatha vihaya navani grhnati naro’parani

tatha sarirani vihaya jirnany anyani samyati navani dehi

Translation

“As a person gives up old and worn out garments and accepts new apparel, similarly the embodied soul giving up old and worn out bodies verily accepts new bodies.”

So the soul neither be created nor be destroyed.  It’s just the two souls united at the marriage and work toward to accomplish the purpose needed by each other.

Buddhism

Contradict to the Hinduism; Buddhist doctrine rejects the idea of an immortal soul.  Also, it clearly states that there is no concept of soul.

I just noted this point here as it is one of the biggest religion followed by many, and I don’t want go in depth analysis on this as it’s not relevant to this analysis.

Christianity

In the New Testament, the Greek word for “soul” is transliterated as psuche or psyche.

Psuche denotes one’s inner life or actual personhood. God, who has created the “soul,” can also destroy it.

Jesus said: “Be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:28).

Here, Jesus differentiated between the “soul” and the body. “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul,” he said (verse 28). His words indicate that while the body is corrupted at death, the “soul” continues on, though both “soul” and body can end in soul-destroying hell.

So the soul is considered to be there on the earth as well as on the Hell or Heaven. But that considered to a mortal one.

Jainism

Jainism believes in the existence of the soul from human to plants and even the micro organisms like bacteria and viruses.

The basic concept of this religion is based on the existence of the soul. And they classify the soul into two categories.

  1. Liberated Souls: The souls that attained the Moksha, and which will not be part of lifecycle again.

Moksha (Sanskrit language):  emancipation, liberation or release from the birth and death life cycle.

  1. Non-Liberated Souls – The soul which are struck in the lifecycle based on the karma of the individual soul. There is no start and end of the soul.

According to Jainism , the soul is eternal and just changes the bodies till it attains the moksha. The concept of the soul is similar to the Hinduism.

Judaism

In modern Judaism, the soul is considered to be a thing given to the person upon his first breath.

And it relates the closeness of a person to God, which is based on the quality of the soul with one’s performance of the commandments.

Sikhism

Sikhism considers the soul as an integral part of the God and the God within the soul. Once the soul departs from the body, it becomes lifeless  and the soul is believed to be the driver of this body.

Out of many oldest religions in the world, four religions came from India namely, Hinduism and the subset of this religion, Sikhism, Jainism and Buddhism.

Among the four Indian religions only one religion, the Buddhism, contradicts to the soul concept and this is the only religion in the world that doesn’t believe in the existence of the soul. All the other religions except this religion, believe in the existence of the soul and they have their own descriptions and the closeness of the soul to the God.

Soul Mates – Part II: A Mythological Approach

Hindu Mythology

In Hindu mythology there are hundreds of soul mate stories narrated indirectly. Hindu gods are explained to have a best half of them.

For example,  Rama and  Sita, Lord Shiva and Parvathi and many more other gods. When the other part (the Goddess ) is not with them, the male Gods cease to function.

At many occasions, as told by our ancestors, the stories we heard at our childhood gives much more clarification of this topic.

God, he himself manifest or incarnate in any form on the earth to revive the righteousness or enlighten the Kings or Sages. He can incarnate as a baby, as a kid, as a man, as a king, as a saint, as a woman, as an animal. So we can conclude that soul in any form can be of a soul mate and it helps to revive or achieve your destiny.

Chinese /Japanese Mythology

There is a concept of  red string of fate in Chinese mythology which states that the gods tie an invisible red cord around the ankles of those that are destined to meet one another in a certain situation or help each other in a certain way.

In Japanese mythology the it is believed to be tied around the little finger.

According to Chinese myth, the god in charge of this ‘red string of fate’ is Yue Xia Lao often abbreviated to Yue Lao, the old lunar matchmaker god, who is in charge of marriages.

The two people connected by the red thread are destined lovers, regardless of place, time, or circumstances. This magical cord may stretch or tangle, but never break.

Greek Mythology

According to Aristophanes theory : humans originally were created with four arms ,four legs and a single head with two faces. There were three genders of man, woman and the androgyny. Each with two sets of genitals with the androgyny having both male and female genitalia. The men were the children of the sun, the women were the children of the earth and the androgynies were the children of the moon who were born of the sun and earth. It’s said that gods were afraid of human’s strength that they will be conquered by them, so they decided to destroy them with lightning.

So Zeus found a solution by splitting humans in half as punishment and doubled the no of humans and hence increased the tributes to god.

Egyptian Mythology

A very interesting part of the soul mate analysis, I have found something which would be worth to share here.

In Egyptian mythology a single person’s soul constituted with many parts. There were mainly 8 immortal  parts of the soul and the body was considered to be mortal part, thus in total they attributed the soul with 9 parts. This is why they preserved the bodies (mummy) to enjoy the life after of death.

Since they had  8 immortal components of the soul, they considered the life after death is more enjoyable and better than the human body, a mortal soul.

The main immortal components of the human soul

Ka  (a pair of upraised arms)

  • Can wander about at will.
  • Is independent of the man and can dwell in any statue etc of him.
  • Can eat and drink. Great care would be taken to ensure clean food and drink.
  • Partakes of funerary offerings;

Ba  (a human-headed bird) – the “soul”.

  • Assumed to be in a material or immaterial form at its will.
  • It can also return to the tomb and partake of the funerary offerings.
  • Seen bringing air and food down to the body.
  • Can visit the body at will.

Ab – (a vessel with ears as handles) – the “heart”

  • The source of good and bad thoughts;
  • The moral awareness of right and wrong.
  • Can move freely, and separate or unite with the body, and also enjoy life with the gods in heaven.

Khaibit – (a fan; an object which intercepts the light) – the “shadow”

  • Like the Ka and Ba it partakes of funerary offerings;
  • Aable to detach from the body, with the power of going wherever it might.

Akh,khu,or akhu(the ibis or phoenix) – the “spirit”

  • the radiant and shining being that lived on in the Sahu
  • the transfigured dead which ascends to heaven and dwells among the gods

Sekhem – the power or form

The incorporeal personification of the vital force of a man, dwelling in heaven among the Khus.

Ren – the “name”, which exists in heaven.

Vital to a man on his journey through life and to the afterlife.

Sahu – (a mummy and a seal) – the “spiritual body”; –

a spiritual body , appearing from physical body, that can dwell on the heavens after the judgment is passed.

From the study it’s clear that Egyptian mythology had ruled out the concept of soul mate where our own soul has many parts itself.

Mayan Mythology

According to the Mayan mythology soul believe to have many parts same as like Egyptians. Those are defined such as ‘shadow’, ‘breath’, ‘blood’, and ‘bone’. The loss of one or more soul results in specific disease. Also they believed that there is a link between the human soul (mainly men) and the stars, lightening and thus it protecting him. So less known about the soul mate in Mayan mythology.

The summary of this analysis is most of the world’s mythologies believed in the souls and some of them believed in the soul mates.

In Hindu mythology :

Soul can be neither created nor be destroyed, but it changes from one body to another upon the death. This looks same as the “Law of Conservation of Energy” in Physics. Soul mate doesn’t need to be a life partner.

In Chinese /Japanese mythology:

There is a defined soul mate for each soul and they are united by marriage.

In Egyptian mythology:

No information about the soul mates, because the single person himself comprised with many souls.

In Greek mythology:

Soul mates do exist and they are destined to meet each other by marriage.

In Mayan mythology:

No concept of soul mate or no information to define a soul mate. This is same as Egyptian mythology soul with different parts.

I am happy to share such good information with you all as a part of my soul mate research. Part III of this analysis will be posted soon and wait for the more interesting facts about the soul mates.

Thanks for reading and comments. Please do post if I have left out any other information on this topic.

Soul Mates – Part I: A Logical Analysis

Recently I read many articles in blogs and social forums about the soul mates. I was using the term just as everyone and when I recently met some nice friends I felt if I have found my soul mate. Then I came up with the questions and I was really confused if I am wrong and started to google out to find some thoughts about the soul mates.

  • Does this concept of soul mates logical? Rational?
  • Can we believe that this logic exists?
  • Where to and How to find my soul mate?
  • How can we test a best friend if she/ he is my soul mate?
  • Do my soul mate born on the same date I born? or she/he born after I born?
  • Do we have same age? Same Date of birth?
  • How many soul mates I can have? Is only one?
  • When the soul mates find each other, Are they become one?

I have come up with below points to believe that there is a chance to exist the idea of soul mates.

Reason 1: Personal Experience

  • I know a person who had the behaviour of not allowing anyone to call him as stupid, idiot, fool, etc.
  • He never allowed any girl to talk to him.
  • He never go out with a girl and he never allow them to get into his space.
  • He is not an antifeminist or gay either.
  • He never broke down on any circumstances.
  • But suddenly he was attracted to a girl, he talks for long, he go out to see her , he waits for her for hours, he let her call me stupid, he let her call him idiot etc.
  • He cries for her if he don’t hear from her.
  • He says she is the one who can turn him into anything.

What does this mean? Really soul mates exist? I got my first point of 10% to believe in this idea.

Reason 2: What Psychologists say?

  • Communication between two soul mates without speaking to each other
    • They may finish other’s sentence without speaking to each other
    • They may have the same dream on the same time
    • They do activities at the same time without being communicated to each other
    • A sense or recognition of the person whom you never met

You suddenly feel that you have met this person some time ago, or you feel something connected to each other

  • Physical touch

You feel something that  takes you for the years and makes a feeling a fond of love, that creates a momentary change in you and that makes you feel both connected in some ways.

  •  Comfortable in all the ways
    • You both are in comfortable in any circumstances
    • You both see the same world through two eyes
    • You both perceive the same idea with two minds
    • You both think of same solution for the same issue

……..the list goes on.

I may be writing more on this topic in future and still my research is not completed.

Basically this is my idea and what I learnt about Soul mates.

Friends, I will be delighted to know more from your comments.

How to survive a break up?

Did you ever witnessed a break up in your life? Does it affect your daily things to some extent? or Does it really not matter to you at all ?

It all depends on the people how they perceive the change in their life. The life during the love will make us feel like flying in air and the days after break up will make us feel caged in an abyss. But we all forced to live up to what God has decided for each one of us.So the break up should not limit the distance we traveled in life and we must strive forward to get some fresh air. We all are destined with something and we can’t escape of it.

To get up from the break up pain, we must do few things to forget and move on life. We can try these tips to avoid a bad life.

#1 We must try focus on the things that will make us forget the relationship

#2 We should not indulge in any drugs or alcoholic drinks to avoid such feeling, and this will lead to a different trauma

#3 We must try to sleep a lot and whenever we get time we should make sure we have a sound sleep

#4 We must try to talk to the people who believe and make us happy

#5 We should eat proper food and we should make sure we don’t skip food at all. Some tend to skip food because they don’t feel hungry at all of this bad relationship ending.

#6 Do meditation and Yoga, this will alleviate the feeling that is packed up in your heart.

I know how it sucks to breathe a failure in relationship but that’s not the end of the life. We must get up and walk fast to the future ahead. Do share what other ideas do you like to share…

His Raving Eyes – a duet

This is my first duet with ritikapeace an amazing poet and a writer.
Thanks ritikapeace for your time.

Her:
The gasps in his eyes
Were blinking in deep.
Sighs.
Whirls in the brain,
Storming the carmines,
Sighs.

Me:
Your beauty of wine,
Drowning deep me in thoughts,
Like a soaked honey date,
Sweetening my tongue to red.

Her:
My eyes checking you
Hope you don’t recognise.
Oh! do.
The reflectors near porch
Don’t show my side eyes.
Oh! do.

Me:
I glide my eyes through you,
Letting it flow like a breeze,
Sigh. Oh , thee lord Brahma,
You created while dreaming beauty.

Her:
Breakthrough oh glass this strangeness
This diaphragm feeling controlled breaths
I’m getting high.
Come on now oh placidity
Ruin me up in your eyes
I’m getting now high.
